My predictions on some future consumer technologies

Purely personal guess. Let's see how many of these will finally come true. :-)

1. The next iPhone should have a very nice camera (e.g. 5.0 mp)

2. Google Android smartphones will become major smartphones people use. Just like or be even better than today's iPhone.

3. Xbox will become the number 1 game console in the world. People play game with people around the world through Xbox Live. A lot of customized controllers will appear, for example, you use a tennis racket shaped controller to play tennis game in your room space, with somebody in the other corner of the world through Xbox Live.

4. This point has already been said by many people, and I totally agree. Everything will be on the Internet. Your browser is the only thing important on your computer. You do banking, use productivity software, and play games, etc through your browser or other client software that is actually working as a browser. You no longer need to install anything, but browser and browser plug-ins on your computer.

5. Internet TV will become very popular. You watch TV and share comments with your family, in different places around the world. For example, you are in Seattle and your family is in Beijing. When you watch TV at the same time, you can communicate through the TV by text, voice, or video, so that you can watch same channel at the same time and share comments just like you're together in the same room.

iPhone 3.1

Upgraded to 3.1 yesterday. Haven't tried all of the new features, but feeling a lot faster.

I still want to get a HTC Hero when it releases in the U.S. next month, though I agree that iPhone has been the best smartphone I've used so far.

Got Snow Leopard on

photo

Received and installed on one of my Macbooks today. It rocks! It makes me like my Macs even better.

Another late night

Time flies. Reading news + facebooking can take all the time from after-dinner to mid-night.

Go to sleep now…

August 31

Watching late-night "tv show"

Didn't sleep until 3 yesterday and couldn't sleep now on 0:30... Ended up watching a computational bio lecture on UW TV.

Will go to Vancouver next week. I look forward to this opportunity to have some nice food and to meet some friends.

Jin got to China safely. She couldn't access to facebook, which is so bad...

I should really try to sleep, don't want to affect tmr's work...

Good night,
Nuo
